Dallas residents can enjoy seconds and thirds this Thanksgiving guilt free by beginning the day with exercise. The 48th annual YMCA Turkey Trot took place this Thanksgiving and had a high turnout despite rainy weather. Runners could chose from a 5k or an 8 mile. The race began at city hall and looped around downtown Dallas.
The rainy weather didn't drive people off as 30,000 showed up to trot and 10,000 showed up to watch, according to the Dallas Morning News. Costume creativity was visible as runners dressed up as turkeys, headless turkeys, popular thanksgiving foods and more. Dogs were also apart of the race as many runners brought them along to trot too. Overall the event was viewed as a success as over 10 people we inducted into the new Turkey Trot hall of fame and registration was at an all time high. For more on the story, watch below.
