Oxford, MISS - Friday November 29th, The Oxford
Square Alliance, non-profit organization hosted their fifth annual Holiday Open House. The day after
Thanksgiving has turned into a holiday in itself, known as Black-Friday but the
city of Oxford uses the day to ring in the holiday.
As the Oxford community patiently waited outside for store
doors to open, members of the Oxford Square Alliance set up Christmas lights
and a Santa photo booth. Between carriage rides and decorating Christmas ornaments,
families and friends had the opportunity to shop and enjoy the Christmas music
filling the square. From eleven am to six pm Oxford Square Alliance hosted a plethora of events for the community for free. The biggest turnout was around six pm for the Christmas tree lighting in front of city hall. The community all cheered in celebration as they lit the tree for the first time this season.
