The Good and Bad of Growth in Oxford, MS

According to U.S. Census Bureau statistics, the Oxford-Lafayette area is the fastest growing, non metropolitan area in the state of Mississippi. The population 2000 was 36,000. Just 10 years later, the population has increased to 47,000.

The Oxford Tourism Department and local businesses love all the new people. They add money to the local economy and create jobs. But there's also a downside to all those people moving into the area.
