Student's reaction to The University of Mississippi's Lack of NPHC Housing.

The University of Mississippi is without doubt the pride and joy of The State of Mississippi. After viewing the campus the since of Greek life is evident. Greek Life is so important that a good portion of the Campus is dedicated to Housing for Greek Life. However there is one very important missing factor about the University's Greek Life.
The University of Mississippi is home to many Interfraternity Council- (IFC) houses and Panhellenic Conference, but no National Pan-Hellellenic Council-(NPHC) houses are on the campus any longer. Years ago the campus was home to NPCH house, but today they do not exist. Like other Greek Lettered Councils the NPHC is composed of many organizations. The NPHC is made up of nine organizations commonly called the Divine Nine.Click for more information on this story.

How an Ohio Musician Changed Oxford, Mississippi's Late Night Culture: The Story of Square Pizza

A former member of Mississippi's alternative country jam-band the Kudzu Kings, Ohio native Tate Moore created a recipe for success when he opened Square Pizza on the Oxford Square in July of 2007.  Although he still plays, Moore's passion for pizza is is plain to see.  After purchasing the original recipe from an Ohio pizza baker, Moore began rolling out the handmade dough and perfecting his product.  The gourmet pizzeria is currently open for lunch and dinner and features menu items such as sandwiches, salads and pepperoni rolls.  But it is the cheesy, crispy, uniquely square slice served 'til nearly one in the morning Thursday through Saturday that keeps Moore and his five employees busy.

Although Moore does not serve alcohol, his restaurant has become the after hour hangout of choice for Ole Miss students looking to keep the party going.  Students of all ages gather in and around the small building to mingle, make plans, and yes, even eat pizza. "I do give out a lot of free water," says Moore, who usually does not mind the rowdy crowd, which seems to come with the territory.  To learn more about this cornerstone in Oxford culture, take a look at the video below.

Diversity Rocks 'Rocks' the Meek School of Journalism & Award Shows

Ole Miss' Diversity Rocks campaign set out last April to encourage acceptance and end negative stereotypes. The idea stemmed in the mind of Robin Street, founder of Diversity Rocks, just in the course of a night. Her only hope for this campaign was to promote diversity within the Meek School of Journalism. But, little did Street and her team know that Diversity Rocks would be a hit at multiple awards shows. The campaign recently won awards at the Public Relations Association of Mississippi and the Southern Public Relations Federation. Now, it is a national finalist for one of the highest honors in public relations, the Silver Anvil Award, given by the Public Relations Society of America. The team will be informed on June 7th whether or not they won. Ultimately, the team's biggest wish is to see that this campaign made a difference here before winning any awards.
