Ole Miss' Diversity Rocks campaign set out last April to encourage acceptance and end negative stereotypes. The idea stemmed in the mind of Robin Street, founder of Diversity Rocks, just in the course of a night. Her only hope for this campaign was to promote diversity within the Meek School of Journalism. But, little did Street and her team know that Diversity Rocks would be a hit at multiple awards shows. The campaign recently won awards at the Public Relations Association of Mississippi and the Southern Public Relations Federation. Now, it is a national finalist for one of the highest honors in public relations, the Silver Anvil Award, given by the Public Relations Society of America. The team will be informed on June 7th whether or not they won. Ultimately, the team's biggest wish is to see that this campaign made a difference here before winning any awards.
