When people see athletes compete on the field they see passion, a competitive nature, and a will to win.  What many people do not see is the effort put in by many team trainers such as Ole miss baseball’s Josh porter so that athletes are able to stay healthy and compete.

Baseball is one of the longest seasons in college sports so it is crucial for Porter to keep his athletes healthy so that they can compete on the field as well as rehab from sports related injuries. Often in baseball players face many arm related injuries such as Tommy john and labrum surgeries.  It is up to Porter and trainers like him to help strengthen this athletes while they come back from surgery, but one of the most important aspects to their job is injury prevention.  Porter often shows the athletes exercises that will prevent them from harm while playing.
