Journalism is the largest major on the University of Mississippi's campus. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in print, broadcast, public relations or magazine service.The Meek School of Journalism and New Media is located in Farley Hall. This department has over 500 students enrolling in classes each semester.
The University of Mississippi hosted the 2008 Presidential Debate on September 26 and the University's Department of Journalism played a major role in it. Since the debate, journalists like Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather have come to talk to students for Journalism Week.
