You Should Think Before You Drink

The two most deadly combinations you shouldn't combine: Drinking and Driving. In any ordinary college town the party scene is all the same and Oxford, Mississippi is no different. In Mississippi, your blood alcohol content (BAC) can not be legally over 0.08%. The liver on average processes two drinks per hour. Any more than that, your legally intoxicated and puts you over the limit when operating a motor vehicle. 1,700 college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die each year from alcohol related injuries and 47 of those include motor vehicle crashes. MADD Mississippi shows a list of statistics looking specifically at the 2006 DUI records for the United States and narrows it down to just Mississippi. When deciding if you've had too many drinks to drive, there are other transportation options in Oxford to choose from: Angel Taxi, Rebel Ride, and Rockstar Taxi.
In the 2001 Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study (CAS) about 3 out of 10 college students drove after drinking. Many do not consider the consequences of drinking and driving. Before going out, especially to the square, plan ahead to have a sober driver. It pays to be responsible. This youtube video is about a woman by the name of Jacqueline who was hit by a drunk driver and survived to tell her story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej_2uT7D8yI&feature=related
