According to a study by the American Journal of Public Health, binge drinking continues to be on the rise. Binge drinking occurs when a male consumes at least five drinks on one occasion and at least four drinks for women. The study was revolutionary due to the fact that it was the first study to be conducted county-by-county. The poll indicates that counties with college campuses had higher percentages of people binge drinking compared to counties that did not have any colleges.

Binge drinking continues to be a problem, especially in college campuses, because according to the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, around half of college students who drink also consume alcohol through binge drinking. Binge drinking can lead to several problems that include assault, sexual abuse, injury, or even death.

Logan Frost has the story on what some students and doctors think about the increasing levels of binge drinking.
